Pinterest can serve several sizes of the same image. pintload selects the largest listed version it can find, rather than simply treating the small preview as the original. It does not invent a higher resolution.

Download the image behind a Pinterest Pin
The image downloader checks an individual public Pin for image files. It supports available JPG, PNG, WebP and GIF sources. It does not take a screenshot of the Pinterest page, so navigation controls and page backgrounds are not added to the saved file.
Paste the Pin address, choose Find downloads, then inspect the image result before saving. Where the page lists an original-source image, the tool can offer that source; otherwise it compares the listed sizes when dimensions are available. An original-source result may not include dimensions in Pinterest’s page data.
If the content you want moves or contains audio, use the Pinterest video downloader. A still image shown on a video Pin can be its cover rather than a frame-by-frame copy of the clip.
Original size, full resolution and blurry previews
Image resolution is the number of pixels across and down a file. A 1000 × 1500 image contains 1,500,000 pixels, while a 236 × 354 preview contains 83,544. Stretching the smaller file to the larger dimensions does not recover the missing detail.
“Original source” describes a file Pinterest exposes. It is not a guarantee that you are receiving the photographer’s camera original or an uncompressed master. The creator may have uploaded a smaller copy, and the platform may process the upload.
Check the downloaded file’s dimensions in your device’s image information. If it looks soft only when heavily enlarged, you may be viewing it beyond its useful size. JPG, PNG, WebP and GIF: what will you save?
The file format comes from the source. pintload does not automatically turn every image into a JPG or promise a transparent PNG for every Pin. Check the extension after downloading, especially before sending the file to another app.
Renaming the extension changes the filename, not the encoding. If an editor requires JPG, open the image in an app that supports its actual format and export a JPG copy. Keep the downloaded source if you want to avoid unnecessary repeated compression.

Save a Pinterest image to Photos, Gallery or Downloads
On iPhone or iPad, find the browser download in Files first. Open the image, then look for Save Image in the share menu to add it to Photos. The iPhone image-saving walkthrough explains why saving to Files and saving to Photos can be separate actions.
On Android, check Downloads in your browser or file manager. Your Gallery app may show the image later or use a different folder view. The Android saving guide covers that difference.
On a computer, locate the file through the browser’s download list. If a preview opens instead, use the browser’s save control where available. Confirm the saved file is an image rather than an HTML page before opening it in an editor.
When to use Pinterest’s Download image option
Pinterest provides a native Download image action for some Pins. Open the image Pin and check its three-dot menu. This can be the simplest path when the option is available; see the official Pinterest image download help.
If neither the native option nor pintload provides a usable file, check whether the Pin is still public. A Pin that opens while you are logged in may not be available to a separate service. Do not supply your password or account cookies to resolve this.

Using the image for wallpaper, reference or print
For wallpaper, compare the image’s shape with your screen. A portrait image may need cropping on a wide monitor. pintload preserves the supplied file; it does not crop, remove backgrounds or stretch an image to fit a device.
For printing, the available pixels and intended print size determine the usable resolution. As an example, 1200 pixels across gives 4 inches at 300 pixels per inch. Changing a DPI label alone does not add pixels. If you need a larger print or a commercial asset, request a suitable licensed source from the creator.

Can I download Pinterest pictures in their original size?
The tool offers an original-source image when the Pin exposes one, or a listed image version when it does not. It cannot guarantee access to the creator’s original upload or camera file.
Why is my downloaded Pinterest image blurry?
The available source may be small, compressed or already blurry. Compare its pixel dimensions with how large you are displaying it. Downloading the same low-resolution source again will not restore detail.
Does the image downloader support PNG and WebP?
Yes, when those files are supplied by the public Pin. It preserves the source format rather than converting every file to JPG.
Can I download a Pinterest image as a JPG?
If the source is JPG, the download remains JPG. A PNG or WebP source stays in its supplied format. Use a compatible image editor to export a JPG if you need one.
Does PNG mean the background will be transparent?
No. PNG supports transparency, but an individual PNG can have an opaque background. pintload does not remove backgrounds or add transparency.
Can I download animated GIFs?
An available GIF file can be offered as an image download. If the Pin exposes only a still preview or a video representation, the tool does not create a GIF animation from it.
Can I download every image from a carousel?
Multiple results may appear when the Pin exposes supported images, but a complete carousel export is not guaranteed. Check each result; this tool does not promise a ZIP or bulk board download.
Why are there no dimensions beside an original-source image?
Pinterest’s page data does not always include dimensions for that source. The tool leaves unknown dimensions unstated. You can inspect the saved file’s dimensions on your device.
Can I get a 4K version of any image?
No. A high-resolution file must exist and be available from the source. The downloader does not upscale a small image or label it 4K without supporting dimensions.
Why did the image save to Files instead of Photos on iPhone?
Safari downloads can go to Files. Open the file and use Share → Save Image when available to add it to Photos. See the iPhone guide.
Can I remove a watermark from the image?
This tool does not remove watermarks, signatures or other marks embedded in the file. Ask the creator for an authorized clean copy if your use requires one.
How do I download the video instead of its cover?
Use the Pinterest MP4 downloader. It lists direct video files when they are available, rather than treating a cover image as a video.
