How to download Pinterest images and videos on Android
Copy a Pin link, save an available file, and find it in Android Downloads or your photo gallery.
Copy the link to the actual Pin
Open the individual Pin in the Pinterest app. Use Share and Copy link. A link to a search page, profile, or entire board does not identify a single downloadable image or video. For an image, first check whether the Pin’s menu already offers Download image.
Save an available image or video
Use your usual browser, such as Chrome, to open pintload. The steps do not require installing an extension or giving access to your Pinterest account.
- Paste the Pin link and tap Find downloads.
- Choose an available image or MP4. If several video dimensions appear, select the version that suits your screen and storage.
- Confirm the browser’s download prompt if shown.
- Open the browser menu and select Downloads, or use your phone’s Files app.
Why a file may not appear in Gallery
A successful browser download can appear in Files before your gallery app indexes it. Look in Downloads first and open the actual file. You may need to move it into a folder used by your gallery; the steps vary by Android version and phone manufacturer.
An MP4 is a video container, while JPG, PNG and WebP are image formats. Downloading a video Pin’s cover image does not also download the video. Use the video tool when you want only MP4 results.
Troubleshoot a failed save
Check available storage and your network connection. If the browser opens a media preview instead of saving, look for a download action in the media viewer or its menu. Avoid repeatedly submitting the same link in quick succession.
If the tool reports no MP4, the source may be streaming-only, externally hosted, or unavailable. Trying another phone cannot make a missing source file appear. Check the Pin in Pinterest and use its native download option if the creator provides one.
Start with a public link to content you own or have permission to download.
Open the downloaderSource and further reading
Pinterest’s image download instructions explain the native option. Its copyright help explains why permission can still be needed.
